I'm Nitish. I build websites, a business, and sentences.

I grew up in Madhubani, Bihar — a small town where people paint their walls by hand before a wedding. Fish for fertility, bamboo for family, suns with faces. I didn't know it was “art”. I thought every town did it.

I studied engineering at VIT, Vellore, spent five years building software at State Street, and today I'm a Software Developer at MassMutual India — 6+ years of software that isn't allowed to fail quietly.

Then I co-founded Kritira to take my hometown's art to the rest of the world — and to pay the artists properly while we were at it. I built the whole platform myself: storefront, payments, admin, AI tooling, the lot. Read the case study.

Running Kritira taught me what engineering jobs don't: what it feels like to run a small business and need a website that works. One that loads on a bad connection, shows up on Google, and turns a visitor into an order. Most cafés and restaurants I walk into have a site that does none of that. So now I build them — for people like me, who'd rather be running the place.

And at night, I write. Poems, short stories, letters I never send. Some of it lives here.
