Our story
We started with a secondhand roaster and a stubborn idea: Indian coffee is some of the best in the world, and most of it leaves the country. So we buy directly from four estates, roast small batches every Tuesday, and brew it like it deserves.

Notes
The Araku lots we buy are grown by families who were given the land in the seventies and have been improving it ever since. This year's crop dried slower than usual, which is why the cup tastes of cocoa rather than the red fruit you might remember.
Last Saturday of the month, nine in the morning, twelve seats and no charge. You'll taste four coffees side by side and learn more in an hour than a year of reading labels.
Two spoons, water just off the boil, and the patience to let it drip rather than pushing it. Most people use too little coffee and too much heat — that's the whole secret.
Before you come
Yes, and plugs at most tables. We only ask that you order something if you're staying past an hour.
Please do, except 12–2 on weekends when the queue gets long and we need the tables.
Street parking outside, usually free after 11am. There's a paid lot two doors down.
