Our story

Three generations of wedding bands have played here.

Swarnam began as our grandfather's mango orchard on the Gandipet road, where the family held its own weddings under the trees. Neighbours asked to borrow it, then friends of neighbours — and in 1996 it became a wedding venue.

Today there's a pillarless banquet hall, two lawns and a kitchen that has cooked for more than 2,400 functions. We plan the day with you — or step back and let your decorator take over.

“The sangeet was in the Aangan and the wedding on Mogra Lawn — they moved 900 chairs in between and nobody noticed. The Gold menu's biryani is still talked about in our family group.”

Before you come

Everything people ask.

How early should we book?

For wedding-season weekends (November to February), six to nine months ahead. Weekdays and the monsoon months are often free at a few weeks' notice.

Can we bring our own decorator or caterer?

Your own decorator, yes — they just follow the site rules. Catering is in-house, but we'll happily cook a family recipe if you share it at the tasting.

Until when can the music play?

On the lawns, till 10:30 pm as the city requires. Indoors in the Durbar Hall you can go on till midnight.

Is there parking?

Valet parking for 300 cars on the day, and room at the gate for the baraat's horse and band.

Do you have rooms for the families?

Six suites on site to get ready in, and we can hold rooms at two hotels ten minutes away.

Notes

Things worth writing down.

PlanningA three-day wedding: what to book whenThis month

Venue and date first, then the caterer's tasting, then décor. Mehendi and haldi can share the Aangan on one day if the colours don't clash — we'll show you how families usually split it.

GuidesLawn or hall in wedding season?

Lawns for evenings between November and February; the Durbar Hall for summer afternoons and anything that needs to run past 10:30 pm. Many families use both — the pheras outside, dinner inside.
