Ashvik was our grandparents' estate bungalow — a place where people arrived for a weekend and left three weeks later. We kept the verandas, the teak and the long lunches, and quietly added the things you'd want: good beds, hot water that means it, and a pool with a view that makes people put their phones down.

What time is check-in?
From 2pm, and check-out is 11am — though we'll almost always stretch both if the room is free.
Is breakfast included?
Yes, cooked to order, served on the veranda until 10.30.
How do we get there?
Three and a half hours from Bengaluru, an hour from Madikeri. Send us your arrival time and we'll arrange a pickup.
Can we bring children?
Of course. Two rooms take an extra bed, and the pool is shallow at one end.
Is there phone signal?
Patchy, honestly. There's wifi throughout the house that holds up for a video call.
